I would like to extend a large THANKYOU to everyone who DID NOT show up at Jenna's on Saturday night.
For a night that was supposed to be a small gathering of friends, somehow we had at least 100 uninvited guests, some visiting police, many bitch fights, a visit from a local gang, and an unbelievable amount of damage and vandalism.
Not to mention some unauthorised adversitising.
So, to everyone who didn't come because they weren't invited (only maybe 20 of us were!!), I have great respect for you, and thank you for having some common sense.

I get into Ottawa at 8pm tonight.

Sooo the bartender used to work in Australia so we asked what kind of beer I would like and he knew Cartlon so he gave me a Kokanee ok not gave cos we paid for it but you know.
Calgary + Salny = So awesome. Lets stay forevaaar.
OMG rock bar playing covers and yummy yummy "SWEATER BOY" yum.
Oh im suppsed to say something about Salnys drunkeness. So I've done that.

I am indeed alive. I am in JASPER and it is GORGEOUS.
I hate VIA RAIL with a passion and I'll finally get to Lake Louise tonight, only to head to Calgary tomorrow! CRAZINESS.
Oh and I carried my (50 pound) pack 5 blocks and messed up my neck and back and such. Eck.

PS HOLLY I FOUND A SHIRT FOR YOU THAT SAYS "BERT IS MY HOMEBOY" AND IS SO COOL. SEND ME YOUR SIZE IF YOU WANT IT AND YOU CAN PAY ME BACK!!!!!
And yes I did minimal shopping for myself. My bro's Zim dvd kept setting off all the alarms so it was a bit embarassing but good for the budget.
AND !!!! My ONE bracelets came today! They are so loverly and white and wholesome and all "we feed starving children".
Yurrrrm.
PS It's hot hot hot today! Not sure how hot, apparently 80F? Whatever the F that is. Probably high 20s but i'm a sucker and re-acclimatize far too easily so its HOT! I even burnt a little. Wee.

TODAY! Bought a new pair of chucks! Low low cut olivey green! At the same little pro shoe shop as I bought my flaming ones nearly 3 years ago. How memorable.
Went to see Madagascar which was good but not enlightening but certainly RANDOM HUMOUR which I love with all my soles (teehee)... the Zebra looked like Chris Rock who is a very very funny man and sounded just like him too! WOW.

I slept from 8pm til 5:45am last night.
And then from 8:30am till 4pm today.
SLEEP-A-THON! I win.
Then to wake myself up and ensure a good night's sleep tonight I decided to take a walk. And my dear ol G-pa decided to come with me... and led me up up up up up the hill on a hike to a lookout where we could see Mount St Helen's and Mount Hood and Mount Ranier and Mount Adams and all those folks. It was certainly gratifying but my gad it's sad when your nearly-90-year-old Grandfather is quite obviously in better shape than your 19-year-old self.
And on the topic of adventures, I'm making my way down to downtown tomorrow to get some shopping out of my system. YAYZORZZZ!
And my dear cousin Lucie (from Tasmania yet we always cross paths in Northern Hemisphere) arrives tomorrow for a week.. and we three shall go to the coast in a rental car! I want to take a detour past Helen because I can.
I haven't gotten around to fixing up my email list yet. And so. La fin!

Well hello. I am alive and in ye olde Portland Oregon. I arrived about 30 minutes before I left Australia.. technically. ..
We were delayed for 10 hours in Sydney so we got coupons for food and cabcharge and headed down to Bondi Beach to have fish n chips. And Jane bought some shoes (I wonder where I got that one from?) which happen to be purple chucks with red laces and yellow stitching. Can y'all say hott?
I went to a parade today, that Mary last saw in 1936, which was full of school bands, and a few big floats, and lots of flag twirlers in god-awful costumes. 110% Americana to the max I say! I even saw my first real gun, times two, luckily it was for "decoration" and being carried by National Guards marching in the parade but still. I had forgotten that it's legal. And they were big and black and probably loaded. The guns I mean. Eeee.
In other news, I spent the equivalent of 5$ on a big cup of root-beer last night in San Francisco. And it was worth every drop, holy moly.
So I'm here, it's raining, and I'm going to go knit some more of my scarf.

I'm in Sydney again for le nuit. And then 11 more days of 'doom'.
Everyone should read Anthony Kiedis' Scar Tissue. Immediately. My life will be so empty when I finish it tonight. It would have been within 5 hours of starting, yesterday morning, except I kind of had a duty to walk around Sydney in a huge-ass circle. But hey you can't win them all.
